The letters JBS stand for Jens Bjerg Sørensen, the man who started the company back in 1939, and who took it to its current position as Denmark’s leading and best-known underwear label. 

 

Jens Bjerg Sørensen was, in many ways, ahead of his time and had an unusually well-developed flair for marketing and sponsorship. It all started with the sponsorship of the famous six-day cycle races in Herning during the 1970s, followed by that of numerous legendary boxing events, elite football in Ikast and, not least, the football club FC Midtjylland and the professional Danish ice-hockey team Herning Blue Fox.
